The White Garden Inn is more than a bed and breakfast, it’s a family legacy. Owners Michael and Katie McNeil, both Miami University graduates, purchased the inn in 2016 after decades of professional and travel experience. Their daughter, Laura McNeil Desmond, and her husband, Quinn, now manage day-to-day operations, bringing years of boutique hotel and eco-resort expertise.

I’ve been slow to write this because I wanted to take the time to give the WGI and the Desmonds the review they deserve. We stayed here for a week in November while visiting from California for a wedding.
The whole property is absolutely gorgeous. We only discovered this place because the bride elected to have her bridal shower here and if you take a walk around the property you will understand why.
The hosts couldn’t have been more kind and welcoming. Running into them was always a delight and they make a mean breakfast! They are super responsive to any requests and though texting them is more efficient I kind of loved leaving little messages on the entry table. Their dog, Clifton, is a big teddy bear who can immediately sniff out which of the guests will give him pets and attention (it’s me).
Even though we were in for a wedding and coordinating all of the other activities around it, we remarked several times that this stay at the WGI was the most cozy and stress free trip we’ve ever taken. That’s all owed to the great couple running the place and the beautiful atmosphere.
We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Oxford.
